So basically… I am obsessed with Pinterest. When I worked in wardrobe at CBS a co-worker turned me on to the site and I haven’t been able to log off since. The site has proved especially helpful for my wedding inspiration (my planner and I even share a board!)

Since the New Year… I have been in complete organization mode.  All I want to do is decorate and  rearrange our apartment in between filming. Just like with my wedding… I have found a lot of inspiration on Pinterest on how to freshen up our space.

The hardest part is toning down my overly feminine taste. I am a serious girly-girl and I have an affinity for all things pink and sparkly. My fiancé on the other hand… does not. Fortunately, we both like the look of fresh white spaces and adore neutral colors.

Current Obsession: Soft Sweaters

It is rarely ever cold in Los Angeles. We are fortunate to have incredible weather that hardly ever dips below 60 degrees. Lately, though, it’s been pretty chilly and I needed to update my wardrobe accordingly.

 When I was shopping the after Christmas sales with my best friend, we discovered the most comfortable and softest sweater at Madewell. It didn’t hurt that it was an extra 40% off. We both purchased it instantly…in multiple colors. Madewell’s back-zip pullover sweater in utopian pine and antique cream are now staples in my wardrobe. I might be wearing it as I type this post…

My Wedding: Inspiration

It is officially 2015 and I literally can’t believe our wedding is 6 months away!

The entire process has been a whirlwind and I’ve never been more excited. This summer we are going to have a small ceremony overlooking the ocean. I literally get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about the moment. Since June, we have been working with an amazing wedding planner… and everything is really coming together!

Kate Spade New Year’s Eve

I always always always get excited for New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day are two of my favorite holidays. I love the energy of both days, writing down goals, and getting excited about the year ahead. 2014 was a really really good year. While it wasn’t perfect the high’s definitely outweighed the lows. I got engaged and my fiancé and I successfully started our own company. I am really excited for 2015 and I am determined to make it the most dynamic year yet.

Now… before I ring in the New Year, I always get excited about New Year’s Eve fashion. While my plans this year include staying at home with my fiancé and drinking champagne… I still appreciate all of the fun and festive options.

Right now I seem to have an affinity for Kate Spade. Her dresses are so feminine and gorgeous.

Affordable Fashion: Forever 21 Coat

Is there anything better than finding something chic and affordable?

Right before Christmas I walked into Forever 21 and scored this classic car coat on sale! I immediately fell in love with the pale blue shade and loved how comfortable it felt on. Since it has been pretty chilly in Los Angeles lately, I have barely taken it off. Surprisingly, this coat is super warm and keeps me feeling cozy all day long. It has been the perfect statement piece to end the year.  Below are two different ways I have worn the coat (both outfits worn with my favorite j.crew pants):

Adventures in the Kitchen

The first time I ever baked from scratch it was the hardest thing I had ever done. Although I purchased all of the ingredients, I was still ill prepared and I had none of the proper tools. I used large Tupperware containers as bowls and a giant spoon to mix. When the giant spoon didn’t work, I used my hands. It took a lot of effort and at the end I was exhausted, but the results were spectacular. I succeeded in ways that I could not have imagined and many harsh critics (like my family and co-workers) told me that my creation was their new favorite cookie. I have since purchased a much more qualified mixer and decided to re-create these peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for a recent dinner party. The results were fantastic and I am forever grateful to my friend Caroline for sharing the recipe.
