I was blown away by some of the stunning gowns on the red carpet last night at the Golden Globes! While I was surprised not to see more women in the “color of the year…” (more on that tomorrow!) I loved the bold gowns my top 5 gals picked! Keep reading to see my favorite looks from the 2016 Golden Globes!
Friday Favorites
Each Friday, I am so excited join the blog link up party, and share my “Friday Favorites.”
This week was a really productive start to the New Year. I had a series of important meetings and accomplished every single goal I set. I also started keeping a calendar (with my husband that we leave open on our kitchen island) and that has literally changed our lives. The only snag in the week was terrible pain in my back from working out too hard. I thought a massage might help, but it just made my back sore the next day. Anyway, I’m excited for a quiet weekend full of family time and date night with my husband. Happy Friday!!!
~
It poured this week in Los Angeles. Rain is always a favorite… especially since we currently have a drought in California. This outfit was probably my favorite of the week. This dress is one of my favorite new purchases.
I am a huge fan of Liane Moriarty books. So far, I’ve read “Big Little Lies,” “The Hypnotist’s Love Story,” and “The Husband’s Secret.” I don’t think I can pick a favorite….I love them all and finish them so fast! I just started “What Alice Forgot” – and I am already hooked!
My brand new calendar has been keeping my husband and I super organized.
Since my back has been hurting this week (and I had my first back spasm!) I’ve been drinking coconut water like its my job — for the high potassium content. Pressed Juicery is my favorite place for juice in Los Angeles and this pink coconut h20 makes me smile. I also finally found time to get a manicure from my favorite nail salon: Olive and June.
This week I decided to treat myself to a blow out at my favorite place: Dry Bar! Nothing makes me happier than a professional blow out and a large cup of coffee early in the morning. Since I had a lot of important meetings for work, I thought I deserved good hair 😉
And a final favorite moment of the week? Sneaking off for pizza in the middle of the work day with my husband. We both have been busier than ever and it was nice to eat pizza together at lunchtime on a very rainy day!
Thanks for letting me share a few of my favorite moments this week! Happy weekend!
2016!

January is one of my favorite months of the whole year. There is something about a New Year and all of the possibilities that come with it.
I am determined to make 2016 the most incredible year yet. As I think about the year ahead, I find myself creating a lot of goals. Goals for my career, my home, my friendships, my health, my marriage, and much more. However, instead of focusing on what I want to “change” or “lose” or “do less of” I am really trying to focus on happiness and what I can do “more of.”
Instead of focusing on the last 10-15 pounds I would like to lose, I am focusing on exercising “more” for my health. Because I genuinely enjoy spinning (and boxing! which is new and I want to explore more of). To eat more salads and greens, because even though I am not a fan of vegetables, I feel better when I eat them.
I want to read more books that inspire me. I want to creatively write more, because I am happiest when I am creative. I want to travel more and spend more quality time with my friends, family, and my husband. I want to be a better version of who I already am. Taking small steps every single day for my happiness and the happiness of others. Doing more of what makes me, me.
The energy of the New Year is contagious and I admit I also have a lot of lofty and specific goals for this year (and the next 5!) but that’s just my personality. So to keep me from being too “type A”, I want to focus more on”happiness” and finding happy moments in my every day, in the ordinary.
A friend of mine had a great idea for a 2016 “memory” jar. My husband and I decided that this year we are going to keep a memory jar, and we have already filled it with many little moments. From eating Chinese takeout on the couch while drinking expensive Champagne and watching movies (technically 12/31), to scoring a really important client for our business (right at the beginning of the year!), and a really fun early morning walk on the beach followed by a long afternoon nap and a fancy dinner out (a pretty perfect Saturday!)…
This year, in 2016, I want to work hard and take time to appreciate life. I want to enjoy every single day. To not be discouraged by the hard days, and not be swayed by the good ones. To appreciate each moment that makes my life, my life.
Happy New Year!
Show & Tell Tuesday: Introduction & Resolutions
Toward the end of the year I discovered this cute “blog link up” online. I thought it would be fun to link up and join the blog party for Show & Tell Tuesday.

My name is Erica and I am 27 years old. I am from Los Angeles, CA and work as a professional writer and producer.

2015 was a big year. I married to the love of my life, traveled to Paris, Rome, and Florence, and celebrated with the people I love the most. I achieved huge milestones in my life and career and created memories that will last a life time.

I am passionate about my family, friends, fashion, writing, home decor, and travel. I have big dreams, am painfully optimistic, love peonies, am addicted to coffee, and am seriously obsessed with Spinning. Sometimes, I feel like “Buddy the Elf” is truly my spirit animal… because smiling is my absolute favorite annnnnd I am pretty obsessed with holidays… especially Christmas.
As far as resolutions? I wrote a long post that will be published tomorrow about my goals for 2016. But overall, I just want to do “more” of what I love and focus on feeling fulfilled for who am, as I am, and what I am doing. To make each day better than the last. To be the best wife, daughter, friend, sister, and fearlessly go after my dreams. To be present in the moment, every single day. One concrete resolution is to blog more often 😉

Happy New Year!
Beauty Buys: December
In the last month I have discovered (or re-discovered) three products I really love.
- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Concealer is a truly great product. It’s really affordable and can be found at the drugstore and is the perfect under eye concealer. I have been using this (almost) every day and I am going to purchase another to keep in my travel makeup bag that I keep in my purse.
- Benefit’s POREfessional face primer is one of my favorite discoveries. I went to my local Benefit boutique to get my makeup done for a recent event, and the lovely makeup artist used this as the primer. I love the way it feels on my skin and love the results even more. When I use this with my Maybelline under eye concealer and a little Clé de Peau (my all time favorite concealer that is worth the hype!) my skin looks basically #flawless.
- Kevyn Aucoin Beauty “The Volume” Mascara is my favorite “re-discovery.” I started using this mascara three or four years ago. It is not water proof but it is pretty water resistant… and I have definitely cried many times while wearing it! It comes off very easily (which I love love love!) and it also stays put longer than any other mascara I’ve tried and never ever gives raccoon eyes. In the last few months I’ve purchased a couple of other highly rated mascara’s — and while I liked them all — nothing has compared to this tried and true favorite!
Desk Reveal
A few months ago, I decided it was finally time to create a designated office space. Since I work from home, It was exciting to create a personal space to focus on my upcoming projects. I found the desk and ghost chair at Ikea, and then shopped online for the accessories.
Below I included a link to my favorite desk accessories:
- SS Print Shop
- Voluspa Candle (my favorite scent is Mokara!)
- Kate Spade Notebook
- Brittany Fuson But First Coffee Notepad
- “F” paper weight to celebrate my married last name.
Holiday Party Dress Guide
‘Tis the Season for Holiday Parties! My love of festive dresses runs deep. From winter white, to sequin mini’s, and santa red gowns… I love them all. Below I have listed 4 of my favorites dresses and 1 super glam jumpsuit, perfect for any holiday party this year!
Banana Republic Coat

For our honeymoon my husband and I traveled to Paris, Rome, and Florence. Temperatures dipped below 40 degrees and it was incredibly romantic spending Autumn in such picturesque locations. My Banana Republic Camel Double-Breasted coat was a fixture during our trip. I am pretty sure I wore it every day and night. It was pretty enough to wear during the day and warm enough to wear at night over dresses and heels.
Long before my trip, I had been trying to find the perfect camel coat. There’s just something about this neutral color that is so beyond chic and great for every occasion! The quality of this coat is incredible and at under $300 dollars, I know it’s going to be a staple in my wardrobe for years to come.
Beauty Buys: November
This month… I fell in love with a new lotion, splurged on lip balm, and saved on eyeliner. Then, I discovered a new face mask and rediscovered an old favorite foundation! Keep reading below to check out my 5 favorite beauty purchases this month!
My big splurge of the month. For years, I had read great things about this miracle treatment for lips and cuticles, and I decided to pull the trigger before our honeymoon. I knew I would need major hydration after 11+ hours of travel each way, and used it as an excuse to make the purchase. Well, now I am in trouble, because I can’t say enough good things about this product. It is beyond nourishing, it smells unbelievable, and keeps my lips hydrated for hours.
Fox-y Fall with Anthropologie
I love a good pair of whimsical tights. It is the perfect way to add personality to an otherwise ordinary outfit, while still being subdued. When I found this pair of Fox Trot Tights at Anthropologie, I knew I had to have them. It didn’t hurt it was the same week as Halloween. I paired the tights with a simple Felicity & Coco Crepe Shift Dress and my favorite Sam Edelman “Louie” fringe boots. It was sunny and warm in California, but I still felt festive on Halloween.
